Week ending 18th February 2018: Got a bad cold, lost some weight, still writing.

Image
Hey everyone.

Hope you all had a good week.

Yes this is just another photoshop practice project. It's not quite there yet, but I'm practicing, and practicing and  practicing. So still looking amateurish. I'm just going to stick to what my teacher said - keep it simple.

I've been ill - knocked down with a cold so not much going on. I've not gone out much, and doubt I will next week otherwise I'd probably get another cold.

I've lost a 2lb this week, which I put down to making my own lunches, rather than eating out. I have more control over the stuff that goes into my food.

The writing is still going well, though I had to prioritise one course over the other. Next I need to start thinking of my marketing plan. I've got some stories I can release form my course and see how those fare.

The photoshop classes are great, but I need to keep it simple. I'm just experimenting with these results, but I'll have to get more focus and not try and run before I…

My week ending 11 Feb - writing courses, photoshop, beta-reading novel, preparing to self publish....

Hey Everyone,

Hope you've all had a good week!  I found I've taken on too much so some of my plans are on the back burner. I also got run down with a bug. I don't know what's a cold or flu or bug.

Week's catch up.

Work is cool, so much laugher though there is lots to do. It's taking some getting used it. First it's nothing, then full throttle ahead.

My ergonomic mouse packed up so I'm using my non-dominant mouse hand, and that's swollen. All I can say its the last time I buy something off a reseller on Amazon. They weren't bad, but it's just now they have referred me to the manufacturer in the USA. I'm in the UK for crying out load. All I can say is always check the warranty on electronics and who take responsibility.  It wasn't a cheap mouse, it cost about $150 or £100. So not happy.

Writing classes

Going well but hard work. The proof is keeping up the momentum. I'm doing the Faber short courses and currently doing two at the mom…

Review of January 2018 - lost weight, socialised with others, completed my beta-read, doing my courses.

Hello everyone,

Just checking in about my goals and life in general. It's all good.

What went well.

I took in packed lunches for at least four days a week. This was just hummus, sprouts, grated carrot sandwich. So very vegan.  I also cooked dinner a few times a night rather than eating junk food or takeaway. So a lot healthier.

I finally have a social life of sorts. In my last job - it was work, home and see family on weekends. I was so drained and tired so this new job has made such a difference, that I can go out and meet people.  So I go out with some drinking mates once a week. It's a nice evening out of the house and away from social media or the internet. It's mostly small talk but its nice.

I'm doing my photoshop course. That is coming along nicely, that picture is from one of my practice sessions.

I'm doing a couple of writing courses which are intense.

What hasn't gone well.

I need to focus on having more routines, and breaking tasks down and schedulin…

Lost some weight, learning photo shop, going for writing classes.

Hey Everyone,

Hope your week has been good. Nothing to write about but let's roll, anyhow.

Signed up for Photoshop classes

Well I got free Photoshop from work. Yeah, I'm rolling like that so I've enrolled for some Photoshop classes at an evening class. Hopefully I'll be able to share some of my work as I progress.

Why pay money when you learn off the youtube and other free internet tutorials on the internet? you ask.

True but its not the same. I get to learn off a pro who said I can ask him questions about my project. I was straight up when it came to my turn about why I enrolled. It's a ten week basic course and I want to make my own book covers. Now this isn't about saving money because to be fair the classes aren't cheap.  But it's about satisfaction. Like I was planning to buy a book cover but couldn't find the right one. Then in my new job I got access to Photoshop so I was okay let's roll with it. If my covers are rubbish then I'll bu…

HAPPY NEW YEAR - LET THE GOALS ROLL

Image
Hello all.

Happy New Year!

So last year was awesome for me because I managed to achieve one goal. The biggest goal which was to get a new job. And that came with financial reward as well. Yay! It was hard, challenging, horrible. I hate change but I had to get out of the rut I was in. Dudes, I was desperate to move. So I dug deep, did my interview practice, attended a number of interviews and hit one. Yay.

Now longer gaming. I didn't need the escapism with my new positive work environment.

I also abandoned the iPhone family and went Android. To cut a long story short, I got bought an iPhone 8 but it was faulty - however Apple weren't transparent about their return policy - ALWAYS ASK ABOUT RETURN POLICY. Nor did they believe the phone was faulty. It was. Anyway I was so disgusted the arrogance of the 'apple people', I decided instead of getting a replacement to spend my money elsewhere. I'm still part of the Apple family. But the Apple Store sales assistants left a …

Weekly update. Verdict on Check It movie, lack of black male role models and normal boring stuff. Oh and I'm still fat.

Hello everyone!

So new focus. Yes, I never know what to write about. Never know what’s interesting so I’m just going to write for myself…if that makes sense. There are slew of blogs trying to change the world, radicalise the world, and revolutionise the world so I’m not doing that here. Not am I going to think - oh will people find this interesting or boring. To be frank, I’m a pretty boring person but hey ho let me write.

I’m thinking of changing my gym. Well right now I’m a member of Virgin Active Health Club which styles itself as a life style gym, and to be honest the only thing I use is the hot tub, sauna and steam room. In the three years I’ve been a member, I’ve only been in the gym about ten times, gone for two classes - they are always fully book so I only really just use the hydro-pool/spa, and steam room. I’m a member of the Islington Angel branch which is were all the posh liberals are.  This is a picture of the spa, and pool. The pool can be a bit chill at times.

Weight Loss: Weekly Goal Results and What Next

Image
Hello Everyone! Hope everyone had a good week! So let's get down to it. I didn't hit the target as I planned I would. I weight myself today and I'm 81.4kg which 179.5lb so I lost half a pound. Is it worth it? I don't know but let's examine my reasons why.
So in my previous post, I mentioned my risk areas - supermarkets, working late and not planning meals but let's see what happened.
What Went Well? I had breakfast most days, and didn't go into the supermarket near work for an breakfast pastry. I just walked past which is huge for me.
I was about navigate other supermarkets fairly well, just buying healthy food.  What didn't go well? I had a very busy week ahead with two critical job interviews and work deadlines. I'll cover that in another post. So I was pushing myself doing interview practicing, researching about the roles and etc. Anxiety and nerves got the better of me, and those impacted my eating habits. What next? I could plan but not sure with…
